Heather KCAI (CD)

Kennel Club Accredited Instructor GH2150239
Qualified and Registered with the APDT (ATI) MAPDT 1599
Kennel Club Working Gundog Certificate Assessor
Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme A list Assessor in Bronze and Silver levels

I have been training dogs for 20 years plus and before setting up Cheshire K9 training I volunteered at over 5 different training centres for nearly 10 years to gain as much knowledge as I could about different breeds and how they learn. As a trainer being able to read a dogs body language is important and I work with each dog as an individual as they are all different.

I am a Kennel Club Accredited Instructor KCAI (CD) and a fully qualified member (ATI) with the ADPT.

I compete with my own 5 dogs in Obedience, Agility and Gundog and in 2022 and 2024 made it to the Crufts finals gaining a 2nd and a 3rd place in the obedience ring competing in obreedience.

I am also a Kennel Club registered agility judge and when I am not teaching, running training camps, or competing myself I am travelling round the UK judging at shows.

Dogs are literally my work, my hobby, my life!

Marion (Assistant Trainer)

I am Marion and I assist with the Obedience classes. I have been training my two working cockers for the last 6 years, I have passed many Obedience assessments with them and I am working towards competition Obedience and Agility.

I am learning all the time as training methods change regularly and I have learnt so much over the last 6 years that I want to pass this on to new owners and their puppies so they can achieve and be proud of their dogs like I am of mine.

Marion has passed the Good Citizens Bronze, Silver and Gold levels with her dog

Jodie (Assistant Trainer)

Hi I’m Jodie I began my obedience journey with my first GSP Molly who is now retired, I loved the breed so much I decided to get another GSP Ivy who I have now trained up and is ready to compete this year at some obedience shows, she is also gundog trained although we only do this for fun.

This year I will be joining Heather in the Crufts Obreedience Finals.

I am looking  forward to helping you with your dogs in our obedience classes.

Joanne (Assistant Trainer)

Hi I’m Jo I have two labradors and I am a member of the club with my labrador Scarlett, I have trained through the levels and now work my dog in the advanced classes training towards competitive obedience.

Scarlett has been a challenge for me being a reactive dog but I’ve also learnt a lot from her about dog’s body language and how to control and manage situations for her.

I look forward to meeting you all and helping you with you training journey.

Lewis (Assistant Trainer)

Hi I am Lewis I have a fox red Labrador called Goose and a  Rottweiler called Xi. I have trained Goose from a puppy in obedience and gundog training, we are both members of the club obedience and gundog display teams.

In 2024 I qualified for the Crufts obreedience final coming overall 3rd place. Goose is my shadow and I love nothing better than spending time training him.

I enjoy passing on my knowledge to the members of the club to help them have well behaved dogs they can be proud of.

Helen (Assistant Trainer)

I have been a member at the club for over 3 years now training my Springer Spaniel Bracklinn in the gundog classes, advanced obedience and now agility which we are loving.

I have just retired from my full time job so I have now joined the training team as an assistant trainer, I hope to be able to pass on all of my training knowledge I have acquired over the years to our club members.

Henry my cocker spaniel has trained to good citizens dog scheme bronze, silver and gold, Bracklinn my Springer Spaniel has been a big challenge for me as he is strongly bred from a working background and has had a strong instinct to hunt and sniff which we have overcome through training and he’s now off the lead training and on walks with a much improved recall.
